One of the biggest runway directions for Fall 2026 is playing with proportions. Think tiny waists, oversized jackets, dramatic skirts, elongated silhouettes and shapes that make you do a double take.

At Chanel, Matthieu Blazy experimented with dropped waists and exaggerated proportions, while Stella McCartney went bigger and more sculptural. Jil Sander played with architectural volume, and Celine leaned into elongated, dramatic shapes. Sarah Burton at Givenchy also experimented with the relationship between the waist and hips.

The trick is not wearing everything oversized at once. Balance is key: pair a voluminous skirt with a fitted top, or an oversized jacket with something sleek underneath.
