Peter Hawkings, the new creative director of Tom Ford and former menswear designer for the brand, has seamlessly taken the reins, channelling the sexy-glamour legacy of his predecessor. Known for micro-minis, slinky trouser suits, and flyaway caftans, Hawkings has brought a touch of nostalgia to the resort collection. He consolidated the women’s and men’s design teams in London, echoing Ford’s past Gucci studio location.

The collection, showcased in the Tom Ford store on Sloane Street, draws inspiration from a documentary about iconic model Veruschka. Hawkings’s contemporary designs mix barely-there pieces with sleek tailoring and nods to ’60s and ’70s fashion, resulting in a modern yet nostalgic collection perfect for today’s escapism.
