Edward Enninful was appointed as the editor in chief back in 2017 and will be the first to fill the European editorial director position.
British Vogue editor in chief, will take on a more European role as the continent’s new editorial director. Enninful will part of a larger management group which sees Anna Wintour as Condé Nast’s new global chief content officer. Wintour will remain in her roles as global editorial director and editor in chief of American Vogue
Enninful was only 18 years old when he was appointed as the fashion director for i-D magazine. He was also the youngest fashion editor at the time. He subsequently held very important roles at W Magazine and was praised for his work at Vogue Italia especially its infamous Black Issue.
With the recent staff layoffs and diversity issues at Conde Nast, hopefully this new change will be the catalyst the company needs to better understand their readers.
