Few models have changed the conversation around representation in fashion quite like Halima Aden. Born in a Kenyan refugee camp and raised in Minnesota, Aden first gained international attention in 2016 when she competed in the Miss Minnesota USA wearing a hijab and burkini, challenging traditional beauty norms.
Soon after, she signed with IMG Models and began breaking barriers across the industry. Aden walked for brands such as Max Mara and Alberta Ferretti, while also starring in campaigns for Nike and Fenty Beauty. Editorial success followed, including covers and features in Vogue and Allure. Notably, Aden became the first woman to wear a hijab on the cover of Vogue, a landmark moment for representation in fashion media.

More than a model, Aden represents a cultural shift. By proudly wearing her hijab throughout her career, she expanded fashion’s idea of beauty.
