Fashion News| Chiuri to Fendi? The Rumour Mill Is On Fire

Silvia Venturini Fendi just stepped down as creative director and is becoming honorary president, leaving a major creative vacancy. Naturally, the internet lit up. And who’s being whispered as the frontrunner? Maria Grazia Chiuri.

The rumours don’t start here Chiuri actually worked at Fendi early in her career, especially in the accessories department, before moving on to Valentino and later Dior. After spending nine years at Dior (recently confirmed she’s stepping down) she’s suddenly looking like the perfect candidate for a Roman homecoming.

Chiuri brings a track record of balancing heritage, feminism, and commercial appeal exactly the kind of voice Fendi might need stepping into its next century. The gamble? Will the house lean into her soft power and craft sensibility or will it want someone flashier, someone who fits the modern luxury mould?

Until Fendi makes it official, take it all with a pinch of haute couture seasoning.

Maria’s final Dior show!
