Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer – Worth the Hype?

I picked up the Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer for my recent trip to sunny, steamy Rio de Janeiro. With heat, humidity, and oily skin to contend with, I needed something to keep my makeup in place—without melting off by midday.

I wasn’t doing a full face while sightseeing just concealer, a bit of powder, and lipstick. I sprayed the sealer twice on each side of my face and headed out. It definitely made my makeup more transfer-resistant (not bulletproof, but solid). One tip: do not spray it on your lips it’s drying and feels a bit like you’ve sealed them shut!

It has a strong minty scent, think mouthwash meets setting spray which some might find off-putting, but I didn’t mind. It made my face feel slightly stiff, which wasn’t my fave, but surprisingly, it didn’t break me out.

Is it the best sealer on the market? Probably not. But for the price it’s decent. I’ll be testing more makeup setting sprays this summer, so stay tuned!
