Fashion News| Jonathan Anderson Poised to Take Over at Dior

Jonathan Anderson, the Northern Irish designer and current creative director of Loewe, is rumoured to be the next in line for the top creative role at Dior. Anderson recently celebrated his 10th anniversary at Loewe, but sources from the Paris fashion platform Miss Tweed suggest that his appointment to Dior, part of the LVMH group, is imminent. This move follows earlier speculation that Anderson could be heading to Gucci.

Known for his unique blend of masculinity and femininity, Anderson pushes boundaries with his designs, creating bold silhouettes that challenge traditional fashion norms. His work at his own label, JW Anderson, has produced iconic pieces like the frog clogs, in collaboration with Wellipets, and the dove bag, which have become street style staples.

Anderson’s career has been impressive. After founding his brand in 2007, he quickly gained recognition, and in 2013, took over as creative director at Loewe. His accolades include being named Menswear Designer of the Year in 2014 and International Designer of the Year in 2022 by the CFDA.

If Anderson takes over at Dior, he would succeed Maria Grazia Chiuri, who has been the creative director since 2016. Fashion insiders are eagerly awaiting confirmation of the move.
