Runway| Thom Browne Haute Couture Fall-24

Thom Browne’s latest show invitation was an atelier coat in natural muslin, emblazoned with the brand logo and our names in cursive. Despite the heat, many attendees wore them, highlighting Browne’s dedicated following.

Browne’s collection, centered around muslin, showcased the meticulous craftsmanship behind couture. Known for his perfectionism, Browne admitted to second-guessing this raw, behind-the-scenes concept. Yet, the results were stunning: 48 meticulously crafted pieces, featuring hand-basted stitches and intricate details like 11,000 hours of gold beading.

Using six different weights of muslin, Browne tailored each piece to perfection, from frayed strips woven into tweed to deconstructed tailoring. Models, posing with embroidery sampler masks, matched the limestone walls of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, adding an ethereal touch.

With a sportive twist, gold bullion embroideries of athletes adorned hourglass jackets and dresses. Browne’s collection celebrated the artistry of handcraft, emphasizing its irreplaceable beauty in the AI age.
