This Brazilian photographer has taken the fashion world by storm and we are absolutely loving hi work!
Rafael Pavarotti is a 29 year old Brazilian photographer, a native of the Amazon rainforest, who moved to the UK at the age of 16, to pursue his dreams of being a world renowned photographer. He became interested in photography at a very young age. He would often take his father’s camera and photograph the local people in his village. His friends would also chip in with their pocket money to help him buy film. When he left Brazil at the age of 16 he moved to London, where he became friends with Ibrahim Kamara. If you don’t know about Ibrahim Kamara, he is a very respected fashion journalist and is now the editor in chief of Dazed magazine. His move to the UK has obviously helped Pavarotti in establishing his name as a well respected fashion photographer. His photography tends to be deep, and saturated, It’s the deepest of red, the the deepest of Blues, the blackest of blacks, absolutely gorgeous.

He has often said that he uses his platform as a photographer to explore social issues. He’s quoted in saying the, “celebration of black and indigenous experience specifically, will always be part of my work, because it’s also part of me. As an Afro indigenous Brazilian photographer, my existence and work are already political.” To be honest with you, there hasn’t been this much excitement for a photographer in such a long time. Rafael Pavarotti has really established himself in the fashion industry and has made himself irreplaceable.

There’s nobody doing the work that he does. He does. There’s nobody that brings that uniqueness to the pictures. Especially when you want to capture people of colour, you want to capture the black girls, you want to capture the Indian girls, you want to capture the girls with the darkest skin. He seems to portray blackness in its true beauty, something that in the past a lot of photographers were struggling with. We are absolutely loving Rafael Pavarotti and we cannot wait to see where his work takes him and go on this wild, vibrant, saturated journey with him.
